It’s Getting Warm Outside!

The Summer weather is certainly here!  These hot days with little rain can be very stressful for your lawn care regimen.

Your lawn should be watered 45 minutes with a sprinkler, every other day during warm and dryer conditions.  Taking note of any municipal watering bans.

It’s best to water in the morning.  Firstly, this cools the grass and soil down, so it’s not affected by the hot afternoon temperatures as much.  This also helps prevent Fungus and Disease growth which is common when watering at night.

Always water with a sprinkler!  Hand watering does not provide nearly as much water  as one might think.  Hand watering only waters the surface of the soil, where a sprinkler will water deeper into the ground encouraging a stronger root system.

A timer is key!  Timers are available at any home improvement store and hook up to your outside faucet.  Once setup they will automatically water your lawn, you won’t have to do a thing once the timer and sprinklers are set up.

For best results when mowing, please avoid watering the morning of your scheduled mowing visit.  This will reduce clumping and give you a much better cut!
